Class Advanced

At this level, the students can attend classes to sit for a C1 level certificate (Advanced) that corresponds to Very good knowledge of the English Language by ASEP. The choice of the courses depends on the certificate that the students will choose to sit for. Teaching grammar, reading comprehension , speaking, listening and composition are definitely included in the educational programme. Teaching Practice Test as a separate subject every week is essential, Attending audiovisual programmes that our centre has and reading literature reinforce students’ knowledge at this level too to a great extent.

Class Proficiency

The innovation of our centre at this level is proven by the fact that our students complete this class in only one school year. While the period that is usually required for the Proficiency class is about 2 years, in our Centre every student regardless of his age, an adult or a teenager is capable of completing the class in a short period of time. Also, it is essential that we point out that following the programme of our centre, in the third grade of Junior High school students can easily sit for the Proficiency exam..

The students have six hours lessons every week. One hour grammar, two hours reading comprehension (Coursebook) and four hours Practice Tests , thorough study and practice of the certificate in the format examined. The teachers who teach at this level are mostly English speaking with multiannual experience, training and experience at the specific certificate. Every two weeks, the students must come to our centre extra hours to do Practice Test and Past Papers. Completing every test, each student individually moves on to the assessment stage. A meeting with the teacher in charge of his class follows with whom they discuss the mistakes, the possibility of improving himself and thus succeeding in his exams. Also, meetings with teachers who were examiners take place in our centre and speaking tests for the candidates are held so that the students have a full picture of the exams. In a friendly environment and with state-of-the –art equipment , teaching with Interactive Multimedia programmes offers a pleasant and high quality learning to students even at this level.

Certificates always comprise a motivation for students (external motivation) but the objective of our centre is not to be an end in itself. We definitely want the love for the language (internal motivation) to be the most important motivation of children and the ability to speak fluently and understand the English language as well as any other foreign language.

General Information

Our Centre is open all year round except for the last fifteen days of August. The winter period begins in September and is completed in May and the summer period begins in June and is completed on 15^th of August. For Junior classes, there is an additional special summer programme in which the classes can be completed from June to July so that our young students can have August free.

It is worth pointing out that all the teachers of our centre are available both for parents and students at a specified time a week throughout the school year. The “Teacher’s hour” as we call it, the students can come to our centre for any queries they might have, for extra help they may need, to cover the syllabus in case they were absent or even for any discussion they want to have with their teacher over anything that concerns them. Parents can also come to our centre to ask about their children’s progress or to discuss any matter that concerns their children’s attitude.
