Επίπεδo: Preliminary level

Pre-Junior
At this initial level, children make their first steps in learning the English Language. The programme is for children aged 4-6 years old. Our young students come to our centre twice a week for 1 hour each time. With the guidance of a specialised educator, with knowledge and love, with carefully selected material for this level and with the aid of audiovisual means and online programmes, students absorb the language as if it were their mother tongue. With flashcards (illustrated cards), with songs, CDs, CD-ROMS, DVDs , an interactive board, arts and crafts, theatrical play and stories, students get the point of foreign education and in a pleasant and fast way, they assimilate the alphabet, numbers, their first words and they feel the joy of speaking and writing in English.

Junior A

In Junior A, the young students (B-C grade of primary school) start studying the structure of the English language. With specific material , books and audiovisual means, the students attend four-hour courses weekly, that is, they come to our centre twice a week for two hours. In this weekly programme, one teaching hour takes place in a specific classroom equipped with audiovisual means, aiming at familiarizing students with English under the teacher’s supervision. The illustrated books include stories in which heroes are involved and thus in an attractive way they approach students in the learning process. As far as grammar is concerned, at this level, even though it is for beginners, basic grammatical phenomena are covered such as plural, prepositions, pronouns, adjectives, Present Simple, Present Continuous, imperative and generally students obtain the foundation to make their first steps in writing and speaking. At this stage, the vocabulary that is covered is approximately 250-300 words.

Junior Β

In junior B. students (C-D grade of primary school) attend four-hour courses weekly, that is, they come to our centre twice a week for 2 hours. In this weekly programme, one teaching hour takes place in a specific classroom equipped with audiovisual means, aiming at familiarizing students with English under the teacher’s supervision. The books of Junior B are the sequence of the illustrated series of Junior A with the same heroes that are involved in new adventures, this time with more complicated dialogues. The basic structure of the book is preserved so that the students do not get confused. Also, new grammatical phenomena are introduced such as Future Simple and Past Simple and a complete revision of the grammar that has been taught at this level takes place. The vocabulary that is covered in Junior B is composed of approximately 450-500 words. The students completing the syllabus of the class , have made the first systematic attempt of structured writing and speaking.

Junior A&B

This class is a combination of the syllabus of Junior A and Junior B. It is an alternative solution for parents who wish their children (B-D grade of primary school) to complete two classes Junior A and Junior B in one school year. This always requires some prerequisites. The teaching hours are 5 weekly of which one teaching hour takes place in a specific classroom equipped with audiovisual means, aiming at familiarizing students with English under the teacher’s supervision. The children attend two hours grammar and two hours Coursebook and cover all the syllabus of the two separate classes. The books in this case are illustrated and the lessons take place with interesting stories with heroes in order to maintain the young students’ interest. The syllabus that is covered in this class is exactly the same as the one in the two junior classes with different coursebooks and covers both levels A&B.

It is highly recommended for children that have attended Pre-Junior class or for children that are already in the third grade of primary school.

------------------------------------------
Certificates always comprise a motivation for students (external motivation) but the objective of our centre is not to be an end in itself. We definitely want the love for the language (internal motivation) to be the most important motivation for children and the ability to speak fluently and understand the English language as well as any other foreign language.

General Information

Our Centre is open all year round except for the last fifteen days of August. The winter period begins in September and is completed in May and the summer period begins in June and is completed on 15th of August. For Junior classes, there is an additional special summer programme in which the classes can be completed from June to July so that our young students can have August free.

It is worth pointing out that all the teachers of our centre are available both for parents and students at a specified time a week throughout the school year. The “Teacher’s hour” as we call it, the students can come to our centre for any queries they might have, for extra help they may need, to cover the syllabus in case they were absent or even for any discussion they want to have with their teacher over anything that concerns them. Parents can also come to our centre to ask about their children’s progress or to discuss any matter that concerns their children’s attitude.
