Πιστοποιητικά: Basic - A2

Basic comprises the third exam that students at the basic level sit for. It is A2 level of the Common European Framework of the European Council and it includes 3 sections.
The exam lasts 2 hours and includes the following sections:

More specifically:

The exam lasts 2 hours and includes three sections Listening, Reading and Usage and Writing.


1)Listening: The first part of the Listening section is usually composed of an exercise in which there are 5 multiple choice questions. The second exercise of the first part is usually composed of 5 more questions in which the candidates must choose 5 words of the 6 given and complete sentences that are based in meaning on the 5 first questions of the Listening section. The second part of the Listening section is composed either of one or of two exercises. The exercises vary and can be multiple choice or sentences which the candidate must choose whether they are right or not. The whole section lasts 20 minutes and is assessed with 25 points.


2)Reading and Usage: This section is composed of 6 exercises, with 35 questions. The first exercise is a text for which there are 10 questions. The first 4 are multiple choice questions and the next 6 questions are in the form of pictures. The next exercise is a gapped text in which the candidates must choose one of the three answers given in the form of multiple choice. An exercise in which the candidates must match 5 questions choosing 5 of the 6 answers given, follows. The questions 36 to 40 are in the form of multiple choice. The questions 41-45 include an exercise entitled “Facts of today”. Sentences with underlined words are given for which the student must choose the synonymous that complete the meaning. The last exercise is matching small texts (two-three lines) with pictures or sentences. It is recommended the students devote about 40 minutes for this section. The whole section is assessed with 50 points.


3) Writing: In the last part of the exam 2 topics are given and the candidates must choose to write only one of them. The topics vary and can be a story, a letter, an e-mail, a description of 120 words. The score for Writing is 25 points and the examinees have 30 minutes at their disposal.
