Why Spanish?
Spanish—or Castilian—is the official language of Spain and 19 Latin American countries, as well as Equatorial Guinea. It is one of the Romance languages, like Italian, French, Portuguese, Catalan, Romanian, and others. It is the 3rd most spoken language in the world, the 2nd in terms of international communication, and the 3rd most used language on the internet. Today, more than 500 million people speak Spanish across four continents. Spanish transports us to the land of siesta, flamenco, and Don Quijote; it brings us into contact with the Spanish flavors of jamón and sangría, the aromas and colors of Andalusian gardens, the sounds of Argentine tango, and the rhythms of Cuba.
